Our Capabilities

Complete IT services for businesses that cannot afford downtime

Six practice areas, one accountable team in Birmingham. Take a single project or hand over the whole IT function — the standard of service is the same either way.

Managed IT Support

Most small businesses do not need a full-time IT department — they need one to exist when something breaks. We become that department: monitoring your systems in the background, fixing problems before staff notice them, and answering the phone when they do.

  • Unlimited remote support with on-site visits across the West Midlands
  • 24/7 monitoring of servers, endpoints, backups and disk health
  • Automated patching for Windows, macOS and third-party software
  • Starter and leaver processes, device setup and asset tracking
  • Agreed response and fix SLAs with monthly service reporting

Cloud Solutions & Microsoft 365

Cloud should mean less hardware to worry about, not a bigger bill and a confused team. We plan migrations in stages, move people over outside working hours, and train staff on the parts of Microsoft 365 they will actually use.

  • Email, file and server migration to Microsoft 365 or Azure
  • SharePoint and Teams document structures, permissions and governance
  • Intune device management and secure company-owned laptops
  • Azure virtual machines, hosted desktops and hybrid setups
  • Licence audits that regularly cut monthly subscription spend

Cyber Security & Compliance

Attacks on small businesses are automated and constant. You do not need an enterprise budget to stop them — you need the basics done properly, tested regularly, and staff who recognise a suspicious email when it lands.

  • Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification support
  • Managed endpoint protection, EDR and ransomware containment
  • Email filtering, impersonation protection and phishing simulations
  • Multi-factor authentication, conditional access and password policy
  • Immutable backups with documented, tested recovery procedures
  • UK GDPR data-handling reviews and incident response planning

Software & Web Development

When a spreadsheet has quietly become a business-critical system, it is time to build something proper. We create web applications, customer portals and integrations that replace the manual re-keying nobody enjoys.

  • Internal tools: job tracking, scheduling, quoting and approvals
  • Customer portals with secure sign-in and self-service
  • Marketing websites and e-commerce with a CMS your team can edit
  • Integration between accounting, CRM, EPOS and warehouse systems
  • Automation of repetitive admin using Power Automate and scripting
  • Hosting, monitoring and ongoing enhancement after launch

Networks & Infrastructure

Slow Wi-Fi in the warehouse and a firewall nobody has touched in five years are not minor irritations — they are lost hours and open doors. We design, install and maintain the network your business actually runs on.

  • Wi-Fi surveys, mesh design and business-grade access points
  • Structured cabling, comms cabinets and office fit-outs
  • Firewalls, VLAN segmentation, VPN and secure remote working
  • Server installation, virtualisation and storage refreshes
  • Broadband, leased lines, failover and VoIP phone systems
  • Office moves planned and executed over a weekend

IT Consultancy & Staffing

Sometimes you need a decision made, and sometimes you just need capable people. We give independent advice with no reseller commission behind it, and supply engineers who are useful from their first week.

  • IT audits, architecture reviews and costed three-year roadmaps
  • Vendor selection, tender support and contract negotiation
  • Project management for migrations, office moves and rollouts
  • Contract, fixed-term and permanent IT recruitment
  • Virtual IT Manager days for businesses without in-house cover

Ways To Work With Us

Three simple engagement models

Every option includes a named engineer, documented systems and no long tie-in period.

Monthly managed contract

A fixed fee per user or per device covering support, monitoring, patching and security. The predictable option, and the one most clients choose.

  • Unlimited remote support
  • Rolling agreement, 30 days' notice
  • Quarterly strategy review included

Fixed-price project

A defined piece of work with an agreed scope, timeline and price — a migration, an office fit-out, a security programme or a software build.

  • Written scope before you commit
  • Milestone-based invoicing
  • Handover pack on completion

Pay-as-you-go hours

A pre-purchased block of engineer time for businesses with in-house IT who need occasional specialist cover or holiday backup.

  • Blocks from 10 hours upward
  • Used in 15-minute increments
  • Twelve months to use them
Why HSKG

Support standards we hold ourselves to

These are written into every agreement, not just printed on a website.

30-minute response

Critical issues acknowledged by an engineer within half an hour during business hours.

Named engineer

The same person learns your systems instead of a different voice on every call.

Documented estate

Every password, licence and configuration recorded and handed over on request.

Monthly reporting

Tickets, response times, patch status and backup results, sent in plain English.

Common Questions

Answers before you ask

If your question is not covered here, call 07552 128042 — you will speak to an engineer, not a call centre.

Ask us directly

Onboarding usually takes two to three weeks from signature: an audit in week one, monitoring and documentation in week two, full handover in week three. Urgent takeovers where a business has been left without support can be done in days.

Per user or per device, at a fixed monthly fee agreed after the free audit, so the cost is predictable and scales as you hire. Projects outside the agreement are quoted separately and never started without written approval.

Rarely all at once. The audit tells you what is genuinely at end of life, what is a security risk and what has years left in it. We then plan replacements over a sensible cycle rather than presenting one large invoice.

Yes, and it is one of our most common arrangements. We take the routine tickets, monitoring and out-of-hours cover so your internal person can focus on projects, and we provide specialist support and holiday cover when needed.

No. We recommend what fits the business and the budget, and we tell you where a cheaper option would do the same job. If you would rather buy hardware and licences directly, we will happily just implement and support them.

On-site visits are routine across Birmingham, Solihull and the wider West Midlands. Remote support and cloud projects are delivered UK-wide, and we travel for installations, office moves and go-live weekends.
Next Step

Not sure which service you need? Start with the free audit.

Thirty minutes on site or a screen share is usually enough for us to tell you what is working, what is at risk and what it would cost to put right.
